Company background
Teknion was founded in Toronto, Canada, in the early 1980s by Saul Feldberg and grew into a major North American manufacturer of office furniture systems, seating and casegoods. The company traded publicly before an affiliate of A-Tean Holdings, the Feldberg family’s controlling shareholder, bought out remaining shareholders in 2007 and took Teknion private; David Feldberg, Saul Feldberg’s son, has since served as the company’s CEO. Teknion was among the first furniture manufacturers to earn GREENGUARD certification for indoor air quality, and in 2025 it achieved BIFMA LEVEL 3 certification, the program’s highest sustainability tier, across all of its products, brands and North American manufacturing facilities.
