Bisley was founded in 1931 in Woking, Surrey, England, by Freddy Brown, initially as a car-repair business; during the Second World War it produced parachute supply containers, and in 1958 Brown invented the steel MultiDrawer cabinet that became the company’s signature product, with more than two million units sold since. The company remains independent and family-owned: Brown’s son Tony Brown bought the business in 1970 and chaired it until his death in 2023, with Richard Costin serving as CEO since 2020. Manufacturing is consolidated at a site in Newport, South Wales.
