Company background
Bene AG traces its origins to a joinery established in 1790 in Waidhofen an der Ybbs, Austria, and began industrial-scale office-furniture manufacturing in 1951. The company is headquartered at its Waidhofen an der Ybbs plant, designed by architect Laurids Ortner and opened in 1989, and has been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange (ticker: BENE) since its 2006 IPO. Bene reports around 1,295 employees and distributes through 82 sales locations in 32 countries, with turnover of 176 million euros for the 2022 business year. Bene received ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification in 2006.
