Product coverage
Carpet tile, broadloom carpet, rugs and custom contract flooring.
Company background
Ege Carpets was founded in 1938 by Mads Eg Damgaard in Herning, Denmark, initially producing textiles before narrowing its focus exclusively to carpets in 1953; a tufting factory built in Herning in the early 1970s expanded production, and the company added carpet tile manufacturing in the late 1990s. Ege has been listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange since 1985. The company states it was the first carpet manufacturer in the world to receive ISO 14001 environmental certification and EMAS registration, both in 1996, and it patented an Ecotrust method for felt carpet tile backing in 2005. Ege describes itself as one of Europe's largest manufacturers of textile flooring.
